Organic Natural Baby Soap Information

By: Daniel Morgan

Not only is an organic natural baby soap kind and safe for your child's skin, but it is also kind for the environment as well. The reason why such soaps are safe to be used on children's skin is that they contain only natural ingredients, which are highly unlikely to cause them to irritate a child's skin.

When it comes to selecting, the right kinds of natural organic baby soaps to use there are many different ones to choose from. But you will find with them all that they are able to meet your child's own unique requirements perfectly. However, these products are not only ideal for babies and young children they can be used by other members of your family as well.

Although using ready-made natural organic products is good for your child's skin, you could if you want save money and make your own soap instead. Below we go through the steps you will need to take in order to make your own. Along with the ingredients, there will be certain pieces of equipment that you will need as well. A large saucepan into which the mixture will be prepared, some goggles and a good pair of gloves.

Step 1 - You need to get together all the ingredients to make the soap. For this particular soap, you will need 15 ounces of organic olive oil, 5 ounces of organic palm oil, 5 ounces of organic coconut oil as well as 3.5 ounces of lye and 8 ounces of water.

Step 2 - As soon as you have all the ingredients to hand, you need to pour the water into one of the pans and to this very slowly add the lye. As soon as the lye comes into contact with the water, a chemical reaction occurs and it lets of fumes and the water actually begins to heat up. If you can prepare this mixture outside and then once all the lye has been mixed into the water you need to let it stand (away from pets and others) until it has reached room temperature.

Step 3 - When the lye has reached room temperature, you now need to get all the oils in a saucepan and heat these up before adding to the lye mixture. It is a good idea to have a thermometer close at hand so that you know when the oils have reached the correct temperature (130 to 140 degrees centigrade).

Step 4 - Once the oils have reached the correct temperature, the pan needs to be removed from the heat and placed on a surface so that you can then begin to add the prepared lye mixture. Initially when mixing the oils and lye together it is best to use a wooden spoon, but once all have been combined then you use a stick blender instead. Using a stick blender will actually get the mixture to the right consistency for pouring into moulds quicker. If you choose to stir the mixture by hand, it can take as long as an hour before you see the mixture thicken and become opaque.

Step 5 - However if you are stirring the mixture by hand it can take up to an hour before the mixture is ready for being able to transfer to a soap mould. But once it is then you will need to leave your organic natural baby soap to stand for the next 24 hours in order for it to harden and then after this you will be able to use it.
